PARKING UNTIL JUNE 12 IS FREE ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS.
Visitors wishing to hike Quandary Peak and McCullough Gulch during summer 2026 will be required to reserve a parking spot or ride a shuttle from June 13 – September 13, 2026. Reservations will be available for the 2026 season starting June 1. Until June 13, the Quandary Peak Trailhead parking lot is free and first-come, first-served, and you can park in the Quandary Peak Trailhead lot without a reservation. To access the McCullough Gulch Trail, please park in the Quandary Peak Trailhead lot and walk (~2 miles) on McCullough Gulch Road to access the trail. Please note that there is no shuttle service at this time.

2026 PARKING RESERVATIONS

PARKING DETAILS

Parking reservations are required to park at the Quandary Peak Trailhead from June 13 to September 13 for both Quandary Peak and McCullough Gulch hikers.

Before June 13 and after September 13, you do not need a reservation, and parking is free and first-come first-served.

Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance beginning June 1.

Parking after 3pm is free and first-come, first-served.

Overnight parking is not allowed (12am – 4am) in the Quandary Peak Trailhead.

Parking is prohibited on McCullough Gulch Road, Blue Lakes Road, and Highway 9.
PARKING RESERVATION RATES

Full day (5:00am – 3:00pm)

$30 non-peak (Monday-Thursday, excluding Holidays), $55 peak (Friday-Sunday, plus holidays).

Full day reservations are encouraged for Quandary hikers, as the average hike time is 6 hours.

$10 non-peak (Monday-Thursday), $20 peak (Friday-Sunday).

Short-term reservations are well suited for McCullough Gulch hikers.

LOCALS
DISCOUNT
Please email proof of residency to our Hike Quandary Ambassadors a minimum of 48 hours in advance of your reservation. Proof of residency can include any documentation such as a driver’s license, lease, utility bill, etc. Once your documentation is submitted, you will be emailed a code to apply during the checkout process.
If you plan to hike Quandary Peak or McCullough Gulch this summer, we highly recommend sending in your documents as early as possible to be ready to go when you want to make a reservation!
2026 SHUTTLE SERVICE OPERATES JUNE 13 TO SEPTEMBER 13
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Quandary Peak and McCullough Gulch shuttle will operate from June 13 to September 13, seven days a week from 5am to 5pm. All shuttles will pick up visitors at the Breckenridge South Gondola Parking Structure (80 North Park Avenue) and drop off at the Quandary Peak Trailhead parking lot. Visitors going to McCullough Gulch will then board a second shuttle to go to the McCullough Gulch Trailhead. Note, the McCullough Gulch shuttle service is included with the purchase of a parking reservation or shuttle payment (no additional ticket is needed).
SHUTTLE PARKING
Visitors riding the shuttle can park in the South Gondola Parking Garage (80 North Park Avenue) in Breckenridge. Hikers can park any time after 4am and stay parked all day for free.
SHUTTLE TIMES
All shuttles run 5am to 5pm. The last shuttle back to Breckenridge will board at 4:30pm at the Quandary Peak Trailhead.

SHUTTLE PURCHASE
PROCESS
Shuttles will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Passengers simply need to book the appropriate date and can board at any time on that date.
Round trip shuttle fares are $7 per person and $0 for Summit County residents. Shuttle tickets can be purchased up to two weeks in advance, starting June 1.
All passengers will be required to show payment confirmation (email, QR code, etc.) to be able to board the shuttle at the South Gondola Parking Garage and the Quandary Peak Trailhead.
Users will be directed to download an App or print their email confirmation as proof of payment.
Dogs can ride the shuttle free of charge.
